I live in Los Angeles, and had been on the hunt for a kind of kitchen cabinet door I had only seen in photographs of European homes -- namely cabinet doors that look like the Iron metal French doors of old Mediterranean homes. I looked for months, and couldn't find them anywhere. None that were manufactured specifically for this purpose. I had talked with any number of welders who might build each door as a custom item, but the samples were clumsy and heavy handed -- not at all what I was looking for. I continued my search online, and stumbled across Weldwork. The quality of their website alone made my heart skip a beat -- as I believe that a person or a company does EVERYTHING they way they do ONE THING. The website had a specific aesthetic, the work was photographed in a way that allowed me to see the details, and in short the way the site was built told me this company had nothing to hide. I called them, and could not have been more pleased to find that in person they were everything the website suggested and more. The owner, Kevin, was accessible, direct, and understood immediately what I wanted. He proceeded to produce a three dimensional CAD drawing of the item, and then customized it for me. The result was an exquisite cabinet door -- with a feel and a look that is exactly what I'd had in mind. I cannot recommend the company and their work highly enough. Unfortunately, Weldwork is only manufacturing interior doors.
Weldwork custom builds a variety of interior doors ranging from Pocket Doors, Barn Doors, Track Doors, Pivot Doors and Bullet Hinge Doors.
We use a powder coated finish on all of our doors. Every door we paint is hand sprayed in house and doubled checked after for any imperfections.
We generally recommend that two people carry out the installation.
